Problems With Gastric Bypass Lead to Medical Malpractice Lawsuit

Frankie A. Crider filed a medical malpractice claim on August 7, 2007 after problems she experienced with her 2001 gastric bypass surgery. Crider complains of leaks after the surgery which had to be sutured and a burn in the distal gastric pouch. The problems from the surgery have led to an abdominal abscess and weight gain. Gastric bypass, like other surgeries, can have complications, but when those complications were caused by the doctor’s negligence then a patient may be able to file a medical malpractice lawsuit. In Illinois, a person can file a medical malpractice lawsuit where recovery includes but is not limited to medical bills, lost wages, pain and suffering and emotional distress. If you or someone you know may have a claim against a doctor for malpractice contact an attorney so you can learn about your legal rights.
