According to The Chicago Tribune, The Illinois Department of Public Health is releasing information on coronavirus cases (COVID-19) tied to long-term care facilities in Illinois. The data shows outbreaks have occurred at 883 long-term care facilities in 79 counties. Of those, 525 facilities have an “active” outbreak, defined as a positive test result in the past 28 days. In all, 30,243 confirmed cases can be tied to long-term care facilities, with 4,697 deaths, as of Oct. 2.
